Norbert Kricke
and Emil Schumacher
POSITIONS IN SCULPTURE AND PAINTING AFTER 1945

For the first time, the Emil Schumacher Museum Hagen shows a wide and retrospective joint exhibition of sculptor Norbert Kricke and painter Emil Schumacher who were friends. Both their work was influenced by dealing with line and space. Here, they enter into a detailed discourse and thereby offer an enlightening insight into the development of art after 1945. The presentation of those two autonomous contemporaries in one exhibition, who thus far have only very inadequately been linked via the expression “Informel“, achieves the fulfillment of an important desideratum within art history.
